For the month of April, I will be living on 1 Pound Sterling a day (1st - 30th April) in the city of London. This challenge serves to explore the more mundane day-to-day activities we perform in our lives and the impact that financial constraints will have upon the individual.

How do you document your life?

Earlier this year I picked up a diary book from Foyles in the hope that i could have a repository to track my state of mind as time passes by. An entry from Keel's diary is not as simple as the name would have you to believe. Encapsulated within in this diary are pages of quirky ponderings for you to consider in tracking your everyday life.

Allow me to present you an example.

Date:

You day was
( ) sweating
( ) seet and sour
( ) sorry about it

Explain why __________

If there were no tomorrow, you would end up being a /an __________

You have been swamped with responsibility
( ) Yes
( ) No

Some give affection
( ) like a racehorse
( ) cozay as a pillow quietly
( ) as clueless as a politician
( ) full of expectations
( ) with a childish temper
( ) as generous as the lottery

Who had a bigger influence on you (sorry)
( ) you mother
( ) your father
( ) someone else

Iceland - Takk.

Iceland Montage v0.1 from Warrenism on Vimeo.

Iceland Video Montage.

My thoughts about this video after the link.
I posted this Iceland video montage some weeks ago on FB and have only just got around to linking it on here. Truth be told, this video editing is all very new to me and subsequently requires alot of time and effort. The current version is a result of 2 months of head scratching and continual recomposing from scratch in order to arrive at this version. I'm not 100% satisfied with this edit, but I thought I might share how I went about creating this montage for those interested.

My approach was to run through all the available video clips and then to identify a music track that bore a similar feel and reaction between visual and aural media.
With that in place, it was then a matter of piecing video clips together for their context in relationship to each other i.e. water themes / rotating theme. Finally, it is placing these clips in section of the song that could be timed with the song. Towards the end of the song you notice a crescendo of beating snare drum, crashing cymbals and squealing guitars with distortion are unleashed. It gets all very intense. At this point that I decide to increase the video frame changes whilst shortening each clip duration to accompany the music for dramatic effect.

So for those of you who are experienced in making shorts, what approach do you take in creating your little masterpieces? What makes an interesting video? And at what point do you stop and say, I'm done!
